About Argylle:
Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past.
Accompanied by Aidan (Oscar® winner Sam Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy, Elly (carrying Alfie in her backpack) races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Elly’s fictional world and her real one begins to blur.
The top-flight ensemble cast features Henry Cavill (The Witcher), John Cena (Fast X), Oscar® winner Ariana DeBose (West Side Story), Grammy winning pop superstar Dua Lipa (Barbie), Emmy winner and Oscar® nominee Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Emmy winner and comedy icon Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service), and the legendary Samuel L. Jackson. Alfie is played by Chip, the real-life cat of supermodel Claudia Vaughn (née Schiffer).
Argylle is directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn, from a screenplay by Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman). The film is produced by Matthew Vaughn, Adam Bohling (Kingsman franchise), David Reid (Kingsman franchise) and Jason Fuchs. The executive producers are Claudia Vaughn, Carlos Peres, Zygi Kamasa and Adam Fishbach.
Here are the ones who have been spotted using cat backpacks or taking their fur babies on walks around the neighborhood, plus some tips on how you can do the same using Travel Cat’s trusty adventure cat products!
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is a confirmed cat lover, and if you watched Miss Americana, you probably remember the scene where she boards an aircraft with her beloved kitty Olivia Benson safely stowed in a cute cat backpack.
In fact, T. Swizzle is the proud momma of three kitties: Meredith Grey (named after the Grey’s Anatomy character), Olivia Benson (named after the Law & Order: SVU character), and Benjamin Button (named after Brad Pitt’s character in the film of the same name).
Swift’s cats are a big part of her life, and have appeared in multiple music videos. In fact, she brought home Benjamin Button after meeting him on the set of her “ME!” music video with Brendan Urie.
If you and your kitty are looking to travel Taylor Swift and Olivia Benson style, we recommend “The Fat Cat” cat backpack: one of our most popular products.
Maude Apatow
While starring in Little Shop of Horrors Off-Broadway, the Euphoria actress took her cat Dolly on walks around NYC using a clear suitcase. She got teased by Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show for insisting that her kitty enjoyed the walks, contrary to the cat’s stoic expression.
Anya Taylor-Joy
The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy has some pretty sound advice for anyone going through a stressful time: get a cat. That’s what she did while filming Mad Max sequel Furiosa in the Australian Outback, and she’s never looked back.
Kitsune is a sweet Ragdoll cat whom Taylor-Joy calls the love of her life. She also says he was the real star on the set of Furiosa, and that everyone would hang out in her trailer so they could snuggle him. That’s a good kitty.
If, like Taylor-Joy, you’d like to take your fur baby with you for overnight stays, we recommend “The Boop Coop” collapsible travel cat crate & carrier. It’s roomy, comfortable, and easy to bring along wherever you go.
McCauly Culkin
The Home Alone star is a bonafide cat fan—he even attended CatCon in 2019 and interviewed viral kitty sensation The Dark Lord. Culkin can be seen walking his cat with partner Brenda Song in this photo from 2020.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman has quite the fur family: three kitties (one of them a rescue cat) and a dog, plus alpacas and chickens she keeps on her Australian farm. A cat person since childhood, Kidman enjoys taking her kitties on hikes in their cat backpacks.
“It has a window that they can peek out of and it’s got air and everything and they love it,” she shared in an interview with People. ”It is really cute. They hop in. They can’t wait to get in."
If you’re looking to take your kitty hiking like Kidman, we recommend “The Navigator” convertible cat backpack. Breathable, comfortable, and convenient, it’s purrfect for hikers and adventurers.
Bella Thorne
Move over, Taylor Swift. Bella Thorne has 19 cats. The actress and singer, known for her roles in Shake It Up, The DUFF, Blended, and Midnight Sun, apparently designed a custom cat castle for her fur babies in her Beverly Hills home.
Why so many? Thorne felt it was cruel to spay her first kitty Lola, and at this point she’s raised four generations. Her cats return the favor by cuddling with her when she’s having a bad day. While she hasn’t been spotted with a cat backpack, she does take her rescue cat Louis V. on walks around Los Angeles.
Jennifer Garner
You might remember that video that went viral back in 2021 of Jennifer Garner bathing her cat Moose after he pooped his pants. The actress was also caught taking Moose for a stroller walk during COVID. Clearly, she’s an exceptional cat pawrent.
Roan Curtis
The Firefly Lane actress shared on the Drew Barrymore show that she started taking her cat Gremlin for walks during COVID, and has now become known as the lady who walks around the neighborhood with a yellow cat backpack. As she should!
If you’re looking for a cat backpack like Roan Curtis’, check out “The Original” cat backpack—it’s the backpack that started it all!
]]>“Do you have any orange cats?”. It was one of the questions I got asked on an almost daily basis when working at a cat rescue shelter. Orange cats typically got adopted very quickly, so it was rare for there to be any available. I often suggested that prospective new cat owners take a look at some of our friendly black cats instead, but the answer was all too often a resounding “No thanks”.
One thing I learned fast in the rehoming business is that many people feel quite strongly about owning a cat of a particular color. Maybe their last cat had been a tabby, so they wanted another tabby. Or not having a cat of a certain color, based upon things they had heard or their earlier experiences with cats.
I delve into the myriad associations with different cat coat colors that have gained ground over the years in my new book, “The Hidden Language of Cats – How They Have Us at Meow”.
Orange cats seem to be universally loved – often described as friendly, goofy, charming or charismatic. Take the likes of Garfield, Crookshanks (Hermione’s cat in Harry Potter), Bob (from a street cat named Bob) , Puss in Boots (from Shrek 2) and “Cat” (Breakfast at Tiffany’s), to name but a few. Tortoiseshell and calico cats, on the other hand, despite their seemingly endless combinations of gorgeous colors and patterns, have a far less glowing reputation, and are frequently referred to as “naughty torties” or accused of having “tortie-tude”.
Of all the various coat colors, black cats seem to have the toughest time convincing prospective owners that they aren’t, in actual fact, witches’ familiars, the devil incarnate, or harbingers of bad luck. Sadly too, an extra, more modern hurdle for them is the apparent difficulty of taking a good photo of a black cat.
In my book I talk about the human preoccupation with certain coat colors when trying to choose the perfect cat, when all that every would-be owner really needs is a cat with the right personality to suit them and their lifestyle. This cat personality type varies for different people: some crave a cuddly lap-cat; others a fairly independent “dipping in for the occasional chat” cat; and some are happy with a Thomas O’Malley-style, streetwise, “just fill my food bowl up please”, alley cat.
But can we really predict a cat’s personality type from the color of their coat? Despite the historical associations, it has proved tricky to find any scientific basis to this. What studies have shown is that, rather than the color of their coat, there are more crucial factors that shape a cat’s personality. These include, perhaps not surprisingly, the personalities of the cat’s parents. In particular, the father – cats inherit their tendency to be bold or not from their fathers.
However, probably the most important influence on how friendly a cat will turn out to be as an adult is how well it is socialized to humans as a kitten. Handling by humans between the age of two and seven weeks is essential for a kitten to become comfortable around people as an adult cat. This is a relatively small window of time, much shorter than for puppies, and without exposure to people at this age, cats grow up fearful of humans. Kittens should be handled up to an hour a day by as many different people as possible - men, women, children and adults - during this early period. This should then continue as they move on to their new homes, meeting as many new people as possible.
As they arrive in their new homes this is a great time to introduce and habituate kittens to everyday sounds, smells and sights that are likely to be a part of their lives going forward – the sounds of a vacuum cleaner or washing machine, all the new smells in the home, and importantly, items like cat carriers, leashes or backpacks. Very slow, gentle exposure to these items is ideal - try leaving them lying around so the kitten explores them naturally as part of its new surroundings. The same applies if you are adopting an older adult cat – gradually get them used to having travel products around before using them.
Scientists have worked hard on unentangling the intricacies of cat personality over the years. A big breakthrough was the development of the Feline Five personality profile, similar to that of the Big Five in humans. Instead of labelling our cats as simply “friendly”, “grumpy” or “lazy”, the Feline Five enables us to describe cats on five personality dimensions - agreeableness, extraversion, dominance, neuroticism and impulsiveness, each of which contains a range of different behaviors.
So how can we choose a cat with the ideal personality for us? One thing to bear in mind if choosing a kitten is, just as with humans, their personality is still forming when young, and so it is hard to know exactly what they will be like as adults. Some background research on the personality of the kitten’s parents, if they are known, will help, along with establishing the amount of socialization the kitten has received.
Or perhaps, instead of a kitten, consider adopting one of the many adult cats currently in shelters looking for new homes. Pick a cat whose personality resonates with you, the one who somehow lets you know they are the right one for you, and not simply because they are tabby, orange or whatever color. And if you do find yourself considering their color, maybe choose a black one that might otherwise get overlooked. As the devoted owner of a little black cat, I have a huge soft spot for them!

"Blind Cat Rescue was started in 2005 in St Pauls, NC (USA) by a mother and daughter team to answer the need for a safe place for blind cats that were deemed not adoptable by regular shelters. They were going to be killed just because they are blind."
"KAT Charities is a new non-profit born out of a dream to unite children with disabilities and animals with caring, loving people. We believe when people help animals, the animals help the people. It's a win-win for everyone."
"Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless, abused and abandoned cats in our community and to educate the public on the importance of spay and neuter. We provide medical care, love and a safe haven for cats until a permanent home is found."
"Cat People of Oahu has a mission to help people help cats. We established our non-profit in December of 2018 and have 501c3 IRS designation. Cat People of Oahu provides information, education, and resources for individuals who own or care for pet, feral, and free-roaming cats. We advocate for spay and neuter, rescuing, fostering, adoption and trap-neuter-return. We believe in providing a well-organized and well-maintained group for cat lovers and those new to the cat world - where they can post pictures and videos, ask for and receive reliable advice, advertise foster cats and kittens available for adoption, and much more. Additionally, we provide opportunities to fundraise as a group for cats in need in order to cover things such as medications, feral/pet/foster cat sterilizations, and hospitalizations and surgeries for sick and injured cats."
"Puppy Kitty NYCity (PKNYC) focuses rescue efforts on cats and kittens that are sick, injured, or homeless and on the streets of NYC. Trap-neuter-return (TNR) is one of our primary focus areas in order to control the feline overpopulation problem in NYC, Long Island, New Jersey, and sometimes as far as Connecticut. All animals who come under the care of PKNYC receive quality medical care. Feral cats are trapped, fixed/vaccinated and returned back to their home outside. Friendly cats or young kittens are socialized and then placed in loving forever homes. Our adoptive homes are also thoroughly screened to ensure the best placement for our animals. We have partnered with other organizations to rescue other animals including dogs and birds."
"Feral Cat Warriors in Kingman, AZ traps cats from colonies where people are already feeding and taking care of them and asks for a donation to help get them spayed/neutered. Our volunteers then return the cats to the same property from where they were trapped, along with a signed agreement from the property owner, who will continue to feed the colony.
We are not a rescue and have no facility to house cats, nor do we relocate cats. We are not a county entity. We consist only of volunteers who give our time, use our own gas money and hearts.
We buy supplies (like mackerel) to attract cats to the traps, gloves, garbage bags, food and more. We feed and care for the cats until clinic day arrives, and work with local veterinarians and vet techs who also donate hours to spay/neuter and vet the cats.
We then ensure that the cats are returned to the property from where they were trapped."
"Conquer the Colony was started by three proud cat ladies: Kelly, Elizabeth, and Erin. It started with a kitten... and a kitten... and another kitten. We originally thought we had a small TNR job to do and we just be "done". We quickly realized the colony was huge and in need of a lot of neutering. CTC works alongside local animal rescues and utilizes local low-cost spay and neuter clinics."
"Cat connoisseurs in NYC dedicated to rescuing animals in need."
"This is a cat rescue to help the cats in need on the Burin Peninsula because of the overwhelming number of stray cats in the area. We need help and foster homes and anything that anyone can help us with. We are firm believers in the TNR program."

Here at Your Cat Backpack by Travel Cat, we strongly believe that being a “cat person” means more than loving to cuddle and care for our furry friends. It means advocating for and supporting all cats around the world, whether they live with a loving family in their forever homes or in a colony on the streets.
Throughout the year, we offer our biggest discount to individuals and organizations who help cats by fostering, doing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and working with and for animal shelters and non-profits. We decided to launch our "Forever Home Heroes" program three years ago, as a way to continue supporting animal welfare advocates with our words and wallets!
Quotes have been edited for length and clarity.
Nikki, who is known and admired by animal lovers around the world for her work in fostering, TNR, and advocacy, has been helping cats and kittens since 2012. She is the foster mom behind @myfosterkittens on Instagram and the founder of Fostering a Purpose (an apparel company with the purpose of giving back to animal welfare organizations).
Nikki has fostered hundreds of cats and kittens and specializes in caring for critical care and neonatal kittens. Nikki serves on the Board of Directors for C5 (a Trap/Neuter/Return organization that spays/neuters stray cats) in Las Vegas and is an active TNR (trap-neuter-return) trapper who is making an effort to reduce the feral cat population. She is also the Feline Solutions Director for Hearts Alive Village in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is committed to teaching and guiding others to do the same in their community and has been integral in helping build a powerhouse kitten foster program for the Rescue.
Nikki received close to 3,500 nominations from people who have been impacted and inspired by her work in a variety of ways.
“I decided to adopt a black cat after Nikki conducted a small campaign to bring awareness to the difficulties of black cats being adopted,” says nominator Robbin Barnett. “Nikki changes the lives of both humans and cats.”
“Every day I see how much time, effort and heart she gives to kittens,” says Urszula Komorowska-Małyszko, who follows Nikki on Instagram. “It is a hard, full-time job, and not everyone could be so patient and careful. She always shares her knowledge and encourages us to help animals.”
“Nikki is an amazing person who inspires, even across the ocean!” says Ana Micaela Rodrigues Borges, who voted from Portugal for the Las Vegas-based advocate. “She saves so many lives, and she gives all of her energy to the kitties that she cares for and to educating and informing her followers of the importance of TNR and fostering. Nikki has a heart the size of a planet!”
“Nikki has helped so many cats and is truly an inspiration,” says nominator Isabelle Robinson. “Because of her, I will definitely be involved in fostering and TNR in the future.”
---
“Manager Jamie and owner DJ have put their hearts and souls into the cafe and their community through fostering and TNR,” says nominator Sally Williams. “I have been in the cat community for a long time as a volunteer, behaviorist, non-profit director and proud cat mom. I can’t imagine a more deserving place or two more deserving people.”
“This organization goes above and beyond to provide resources and treatment to cats and kittens who otherwise wouldn’t have a chance,” says nominator Elizabeth Sidler. “From neonates to geriatrics, mystery cases to obvious injuries; this group gives every cat under their care the best treatment possible.”
“Kate of Big Fix Grassroots goes out of her way and far beyond to help any kitten or cat, even if she's full,” says nominator Michele Evoy. “She is a hero in my eyes. These cats will never suffer as long as she's around.”
“They provide excellent medical care, and all kitties are well loved in foster homes while waiting for a forever home.”
At TinyKittens, their purpose is to change global perceptions about feral cats. They take on really tough cases, and tell their stories on social media and through livestreams, creating an emotional connection between everyday people and feral cats, generating an increase in compassion and empathy.
“This organization has been tireless and a trailblazer in the care and approach to the needs of feral cats. Their TNR methods and approaches to care and fostering to adoption is a template for others across the globe. Their DNA program, identifying and studying entire colonies and their members, is an incredible way to learn more about ferals and teaching how we can aid them in our own communities!”
Nominator Jennifer says, “I have adopted two cats from them in the past year and they are so wonderful to work with. My cats are my life and Saving One Life saved mine!”
Aisha says, "They are constantly saving cats in need on the island of Oahu. No matter the circumstances they will save an animal to ensure it's safety despite how it may affect their funding, which is entirely run on donations and fundraisers."
In January of 2014, Hearts Alive Village rescued its first two dogs, Roxy and Diesel. Today, the organization has saved thousands of dogs and cats with the help of the community, The Village.
Alyssa says, "They are one of the very few no-kill shelters in Las Vegas that actually treats their animals amazingly!"
"I live in New York now, but I volunteered here for a few years before I moved away. The structure and organization of Crash’s is extraordinary, and the impact the volunteers make on the cats is unlike anything I’ve seen in all my years," says voter Nicollete.
Voter Erin shares, "Urban Cat Coalition is the only organization practicing TNR/RTF in the greater Milwaukee, WI area. They are 100% volunteer-run and have taken in over 1,000 cats since they were founded in 2016. The local low-cost TNR clinic closed in October (re-opening dependent on if/when they can hire two vets), which has greatly increased the burden on this organization, as they are now driving cats an extra 30 minutes away for surgery, and assisting individual members of the the public who want to TNR cats with this transportation as well."

Portland, Oregon. September 28, 2019. — Your Cat Backpack - A Travel Cat Brand will moderate a panel titled “Travel Cats: Exploring Beyond the Great Indoors,” at PopCats, the nation’s top festival for cat-lovers. The discussion will prove that human-cat bonding can be more than an indoor-adventure, and you can explore Pike Place Market in Seattle, hike mountains in Oregon, or quit your day-job to road trip the country, all with your felines along for the ride — just a few of the actual adventures had by the panelists.
“We’re excited to bring together these cat-humans who have all traveled with their cats in diverse ways to share their experiences and advice so audience members can learn how to deepen their bond with their cats in unique ways,” says Emily Miethner, panel moderator and Your Cat Backpack Co-Founder.
Panelists include Sarah Sherrell (@birch.and.luna), Kirah Doerr (@dzantithedaring), and Anneka Rains with her cat Moose (@moosetheadventurecat).
Says Doerr, “I think that a little exploring is possible for any kitty — defining what that is for your cat can vary from an at-home catio to a mountain trail!”
Your Cat Backpack will also have a booth at Pop Cat featuring their Instagram-famous “Fat Cat Backpack” “Jackson Galaxy Convertible Cat Backpack Carrier,” among other travel cat products.
The panel will take place Saturday, September 28th at 4:15pm and entrance is included in general admission tickets, which can be purchased at popcats.org.

Being a part of an event that raises so much money and does so much to help kittens and cats find their furever homes was super rewarding. We also loved meeting so many other awesome cat businesses and vendors, from art to toys to coffee!
It was a joy to meet folks doing incredible work, like TNR and fostering, to support the cats in their communities and beyond. We give the BEST discount to people who do TNR, foster, or volunteer — and we gave out that discount a ton at the event!
Check out all the fun photos people took in our photo booth here: app.curatorlive.com/events/MXW7Y3/gallery
Special shout out to folks we've followed on the Insta for a while and finally got to meet:
Be sure to follow us on Instagram for upcoming giveaways with some of these awesome vendors!
As you can guess, we spent most of our time at our booth, so we missed all the talks and workshops, but heard wonderful things. We did get to watch "The Lil Bub" show with Fred Armisen and other special guests though. It was a blast. Her dude did a great job with the show — so much hilarious improv. Well done!
Thank you to the team at Catsbury Park for putting together a wonderful event!
