How did you and Coco meet?

I found Coco as a teeny tiny kitten on the internet. It was love at first sight! I immediately contacted the owners and, luckily, I was chosen to be her catmom!

What was your biggest reason for getting your cat backpack?

We are really outdoor people and we love cycling in the Dutch countryside. With the #yourcatbackpack, we are finally able to bring our furbaby with us. Coco loves to go outside, but only when we are nearby.

How did you get Coco acclimated to your cat backpack?

We put the #yourcatbackpack in the living room on the couch and put a favorite blanket inside it. This way Coco thought the backpack was a nice comfy hideaway. After a while, we started walking with it inside the house and she really enjoyed it. After 2 trial walks inside, we walked in our neighborhood. We started with small walks for about 5 minutes. Now she is really used to it!

What’s your cat's preferred method of travel in your cat backpack?

Coco prefers the bubble because she can observe everything from behind it.

What’s been your favorite outdoor experience with your cat?

We went cycling with Coco last week when we had lovely, sunny spring weather. Coco got to see cows for the first time in her life and she was really excited!

Tips for hiking, biking, and general outdoor adventures with your cat?

Always pay attention when the sun shines bright and make sure the cat is not in the full sun. Bring water and food. Always make sure the cat is not stressed in any way!

What's Coco's best odd (but endearing) behavior?

Every morning Coco wakes us with the cutest meow... she doesn't want breakfast, but it means she wants to play with her feather wand toy!

Do you foster, TNR, or volunteer at animal shelters?

I work for the Dutch Organisation for Animal Protection where I am responsible for the online marketing and managing websites for animal shelters and ambulances. It is very rewarding to see how small donations can make a huge difference for the shelter animals. I get the biggest joy out of animals being adopted by a story on our adoption website. Last year, I volunteered at a Greek cat shelter and it was so amazing to help the cats directly by just being there and giving them love and attention. I would recommend this to everybody!!

What's your favorite part of #yourcatbackpack?

I love that it is so easy to take the cat with us and look fashionable at the same time!
