Tell us how you met your fur babies!

We had fallen in love with a British Shorthair who lived close to our house, he had so much catitude! We decided that catitude was just what we needed to make our house a home.

What style is #yourcatbackpack?

What was your biggest reason for getting your cat backpack?

As Rafferty is an indoor cat we wanted to be able to include him as much as possible in the things we do outside of home. We have a beautiful neighbourhood and we wanted to be able to take him walking with us.

What’s your biggest tip for getting your cat used to your cat backpack?

Start young! We started with Raff from when he was a kitten. We're also respectful of his choices. Most of the time he's keen to come but sometimes he refuses to get his harness on so we respect his choice to stay at home. We hold his harness out and ask him if he's ready. If he is he'll nuzzle it, if he isn't he'll keep his distance!

Travel: What are your tips for your kitty feeling comfortable during car rides?

Start it young! Raff loves going in the car with us! We take him out with us when we run errands at the weekends. He just sits on the backseat or looks out the window.

What’s your cats preferred method of travel in your cat backpack? Bubble? Screen? Top open?

He loves to hang over the top, or have his paws on our backs.

Many of our catstomers want to leash train their cats. Tell us about your experience with that. What worked best? If you gave up, that’s ok, too. What was your deciding factor?

Again we started him really young. Be patient, for us it's not purposeful like walking a dog. Some days it can be but other days it can take half an hour to walk two houses. Think about what you want from the experience. For us it's about Rafferty having the opportunity to explore and be outside.
