Celebrities Spotted with Cat Backpacks & Outside with Their Cats
It’s nice to know that celebrities are just like the rest of us—at least, when it comes to their pets. Whether it’s Taylor Swift traveling with her kitty on an airplane or Anya Taylor-Joy keeping her cat nearby on set, a lot of celebrities are bonafide cat people.
Here are the ones who have been spotted using cat backpacks or taking their fur babies on walks around the neighborhood, plus some tips on how you can do the same using Travel Cat’s trusty adventure cat products!
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is a confirmed cat lover, and if you watched Miss Americana, you probably remember the scene where she boards an aircraft with her beloved kitty Olivia Benson safely stowed in a cute cat backpack.
In fact, T. Swizzle is the proud momma of three kitties: Meredith Grey (named after the Grey’s Anatomy character), Olivia Benson (named after the Law & Order: SVU character), and Benjamin Button (named after Brad Pitt’s character in the film of the same name).
Swift’s cats are a big part of her life, and have appeared in multiple music videos. In fact, she brought home Benjamin Button after meeting him on the set of her “ME!” music video with Brendan Urie.
If you and your kitty are looking to travel Taylor Swift and Olivia Benson style, we recommend “The Fat Cat” cat backpack: one of our most popular products.
Maude Apatow
While starring in Little Shop of Horrors Off-Broadway, the Euphoria actress took her cat Dolly on walks around NYC using a clear suitcase. She got teased by Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show for insisting that her kitty enjoyed the walks, contrary to the cat’s stoic expression.
Anya Taylor-Joy
The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy has some pretty sound advice for anyone going through a stressful time: get a cat. That’s what she did while filming Mad Max sequel Furiosa in the Australian Outback, and she’s never looked back.
Kitsune is a sweet Ragdoll cat whom Taylor-Joy calls the love of her life. She also says he was the real star on the set of Furiosa, and that everyone would hang out in her trailer so they could snuggle him. That’s a good kitty.
If, like Taylor-Joy, you’d like to take your fur baby with you for overnight stays, we recommend “The Boop Coop” collapsible travel cat crate & carrier. It’s roomy, comfortable, and easy to bring along wherever you go.
McCauly Culkin
The Home Alone star is a bonafide cat fan—he even attended CatCon in 2019 and interviewed viral kitty sensation The Dark Lord. Culkin can be seen walking his cat with partner Brenda Song in this photo from 2020.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman has quite the fur family: three kitties (one of them a rescue cat) and a dog, plus alpacas and chickens she keeps on her Australian farm. A cat person since childhood, Kidman enjoys taking her kitties on hikes in their cat backpacks.
“It has a window that they can peek out of and it’s got air and everything and they love it,” she shared in an interview with People. ”It is really cute. They hop in. They can’t wait to get in."
If you’re looking to take your kitty hiking like Kidman, we recommend “The Navigator” convertible cat backpack. Breathable, comfortable, and convenient, it’s purrfect for hikers and adventurers.
Bella Thorne
Move over, Taylor Swift. Bella Thorne has 19 cats. The actress and singer, known for her roles in Shake It Up, The DUFF, Blended, and Midnight Sun, apparently designed a custom cat castle for her fur babies in her Beverly Hills home.
Why so many? Thorne felt it was cruel to spay her first kitty Lola, and at this point she’s raised four generations. Her cats return the favor by cuddling with her when she’s having a bad day. While she hasn’t been spotted with a cat backpack, she does take her rescue cat Louis V. on walks around Los Angeles.
Jennifer Garner
You might remember that video that went viral back in 2021 of Jennifer Garner bathing her cat Moose after he pooped his pants. The actress was also caught taking Moose for a stroller walk during COVID. Clearly, she’s an exceptional cat pawrent.
Roan Curtis
The Firefly Lane actress shared on the Drew Barrymore show that she started taking her cat Gremlin for walks during COVID, and has now become known as the lady who walks around the neighborhood with a yellow cat backpack. As she should!
If you’re looking for a cat backpack like Roan Curtis’, check out “The Original” cat backpack—it’s the backpack that started it all!
